By Annie Catherine
You come and go
Like friends and the snow
I pass the veil of a golden hill
And feel you all around still
You are an everlasting spring
So why has Father clipped your wing?
My dove, you are the song I will always sing
You are wild and free!
My love, you are my little dove
I will live this day for us both
As is the sea spread out far
Has it made for you the most?
Now comes the season
That you leave me the loneliest reason
Your soft feathers I endlessly yearn
As you are free, you cannot belong only to me
If not lost, my dove you always return
As I cannot yet soar the Great Blue
My midnight prayer, she sails to you
Love, I do search for you in my sky
My little dove, when did you learn how to fly?
